Venture Niagara is a not for profit economic development organization that provides a variety of services to Niagara’s rural businesses. Through the efforts of staff and volunteers, the organization is active in community economic development projects and offers business advisory services and financing to small and medium size enterprises in the municipalities of Grimsby, Lincoln, Niagara-on-the-lake, Pelham, Thorold and Welland.
Other CFDC’s in and around Niagara include The South Niagara Community Futures Development Corporation andThe Grand Erie Business Centre Inc. Located in Port Colborne, the South Niagara CFDC serves the municipalities of Fort Erie, Niagara Falls, Port Colborne and Wainfleet. The Grand Erie Business Centre is situated in Caledonia and includes the Township of West Lincoln in its service area. Southwestern Ontario Community Adjustment Fund Announcement

October 16th, 2009

Venture Niagara Community Futures Development Corporation is pleased to announce that it will be delivering the Southwestern Ontario Community Adjustment Fund. This fund is available to small and medium size businesses in the Venture Niagara communities of Grimsby, Lincoln, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Pelham, Thorold and Welland.

A total of $450.000 is available in these categories:

Skills Development Training (up to $5,000 per employee)
Youth and Non-Youth Internships (up to $2,500 per month)
Business Development (up to $5,000 per recipient)
Local Initiative Funding (up to $10,000 for non-profit organizations)
Community Capacity Building (not to exceed $25,000)

Two information sessions will be held on Friday October 23rd, 2009
LOCATION: Four Points Sheraton, 3530 Schmon Pkwy, Thorold (Google Map)
TIME: 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Applications for funding will be accepted (electronically, by mail or hand delivered) before 4 pm Friday October 30th, 2009.

Successful applicants will be posted on the Venture Niagara web site.
If necessary, subsequent application deadlines will be the last Friday of each month until fund depletion.
