Venture Niagara delivers
Regional Relief & Recovery Fund
to support the local economy
Businesses unable to access other federal relief measures can apply
Niagara, ON – Small businesses are at the heart of the economy and are vital to this community. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in uncertainty and anxiety for businesses and their employees. This is where the Regional Relief and Recovery program comes in.
On May 13, the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages, announced that southern Ontario businesses can apply for RRRF. Across southern Ontario, FedDev Ontario is working with key partners including the network of Community Futures Development Corporations to deliver the program.
In Niagara, Venture Niagara Community Futures Development Corporation is accepting applications to provide financial contributions (interest-free loans up to $40,000) to help support fixed operating costs where business revenues have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tourism-related businesses, Sole Proprietorships & “Main Street” businesses
The businesses that will benefit most from this program are sole proprietorships, tourism-related businesses and the “main street” type businesses, such as retail shops, restaurants, corner stores, and businesses of strategic importance to our communities.
Relief and Recovery
“The RRRF funding is meant to provide relief to businesses that have lost sales and taken on expenses to survive due to the COVID-19 shutdown,” states Frank Rupcic, General Manager of Venture Niagara. “We understand too that some resources are required to help businesses implement plans for the recovery phases ahead.
